When a restaurateur has a taste for the unique collectible s and bold design features, creating a space that can stand with its own design punch, but also provide ample blank canvas space becomes the design challenge. The owner was looking for a modern space for casual dining and creating separate spaces for private parties. The industrial feel of the interior space is achieved through the use of brick, exposed steel framing, and large expanses of glass. Glass boxes form the private party spaces, so they can see the visual activity of the entire spaces with some acoustical privacy. Large glass walls at the rear exterior façade connects the interior spaces to the beautiful rear patio. The real design feature of this space is the bar that weaves through a majority of the space. Embracing All Angles

When a couple has two different design tastes, but is open to something totally unique – you get something a bit like this. The traditional gable form, roofline, and a bold chimney hold down the center of the home in a more transitional style, while singular sloped roofs and abstracted window patterns push away from tradition to the modern style. The expansive glass facades allow natural light to filter through the entire house, while from the inside you get to enjoy breathtaking views of the site. With differently pitched ceilings and separate wings with intertwined elements, every room has its own identity – a perfect solution for a family that sought a change in their lives and wanted places to gather while also having something to retreat to as individuals. Modern Bell House

Welcome home to this newly constructed modern farm house. This family loved the modern farmhouse style, so the design heavily features timeless white siding and black windows with attention to detail through out. For an already established family with older children, the layout of this house considered the importance of accommodating aging in place, large spaces for family gatherings, and individualized retreats for each member of the family. With beautiful rear yard and new pool, large wind ows create a visual connection, while a covered entertaining spaces allows a spot for 3 season use from dreary spring days to fall evenings. Sunset Lake House

While a picture is worth a thousand words, sometimes a video is worth a million words. We wanted to share a sneak peak inside this lake house retreat. For clients who spend most of their daily life in the hustle and bustle of New York City, creating a uniq ue lake house for re – connecting with nature and family was the ultimate goal. This home features plenty of spaces (indoor and outdoor!) for large gatherings of family and friends, but also hidden nooks for quiet personal reflection and relaxation. One thin g every space has is plenty of natural light and windows to take advantage of the beautiful views of the site. Our favorite design feature? The bowling lane in the basement! Modern Farmhouse 2.0

What happens when someone ask for something totally unique? You get the next interation of what the modern farmhouse mean to Z+. This new home breaks down the key elements of the style – steep gables, white siding with black windows, and simple details – and re – purposes them to create something much more modern. Steep gable rooflines because 3D outlines of the form, like someone drew over the façade with a thick, black sharpie. Black windows pop off the elevations in the form of floating boxes, that enhance the depth and shadow lines at the façade. Simple details are replaced with dark accents of stucco and warm accents of wood. We love how this house presents itself with an energy and attitude all its own.
